Pay it forward.. :)

mood: relaxed
craving: tomorrow :) seeing my dad and taking him to lunch, he lives 30 min away from us now and we hardly see him. I can't wait to hug him and feel safe in his arms.. :)

A great big SALAM ALYKOM AND HELLO to all my followers out there. I missed y'all. :)  I've been so busy getting my life in order ( a great thing) I just haven't had any time to get on the net. Aside from my busy life, I'm GREAT! Thank God. How's everyone doing? I hope y'all are great and keeping your faith high. I really miss writing, it's such a great therapy for me. In these 4 months a lot happened to me and I'm in such a good place in my life now. Alhamdulilah.

My dad had four strokes in one week in June and I've given my all to helping him recover. May God guide him, ameen..

To all the haters sending me hate mail out there: please stop hating, it's such a waste of energy and time. Be happy and live life.

“There is no such thing as can’t.” Christopher Reeve

It's funny I've been divorced for over 2 yrs and I'm happy I didn't fall into the high percentage of getting married again after my divorce. I truly believe that you should be single for a while after a divorced. You should find yourself. How can someone get married so fast after a divorce? Well, this is my opinion  :) I love being single, I get to spend a lot of time with my kids and not have to worry about having to answer to anyone. But, with that said, I ask Allah to bring someone in my life who will be with me for the rest of my life and is a good Muslim and completes my life. Ameen

I've done stuff in these 4 months that I've never done in my life. Wow, it feels great!!! It feels great to be so independent and to take care of my kids with no one's help! It feels awesome. You single mamas out there, y'all can do it! If I could, y'all could.. :) NO worries, leave everything with Allah and do what you can to get ahead and have faith. Faith moves mountains. I have an amazing group of friends (sisters) here and they have really been there for me and of course my sisters (blood sisters) have been totally awesome. I can't thank them enough! My kids and I now live in our own place and I work and I'm loving every single bit of the (ease part of my life now). Verily with every hardship, comes ease. Yeahhhhh... It's all about FAITH & patience... :) Ok, ok. I'll stop now, I'm sure y'all are bored listening to me. I just wanted to up date y'all and give y'all some inspiration and love. Now, on to my short and sweet entry.

Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might
be the only sunshine he sees all day.

Have y'all every paid it forward? Meaning, given to people for the sake of God? Well, all I can say is it's awesome. It all started 4 months ago, I met this one AMAZING person and let me tell you, I will continue to pray for her the rest of my life and will never forget her. She came into my life at a great time and since then, I have take all her advice and moved ahead in my life and not looking back. I started practicing what she taught me and all I can say is, WOW! pay it forward..

The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking the beneficiary of a good deed to repay it to others instead of to the original benefactor.

Do something nice for someone you don't know (or don't know very well). It should be something significant, and not for a person from whom you expect a good deed -- or anything at all, for that matter -- in return.

I won't tell y'all what I've done, I feel that's between me and God. But, all I can say is,  Pay it forward and do it solely for the sake of God. I've been doing this and the blessings I've gotten has totally filled my world with ease and more love than I have ever had in my life. Thank you God for everything you bring in my life. I look back on my life and I've had such an amazing life and I'm blessed and I never regret one thing I've done. God put everything in my life for a reason and I embrace it and hold it next to my heart.

“Together we can change the world, one good deed at a time.”

final whisper; “Sail beyond the horizon; fly higher than you ever thought possible; magnify your existence by helping others; be kind to people and animals of all shapes and sizes; be true to what you value most; shine your light on the world; and be the person you were born to be.”

Constructive Criticism is always welcomed

mood: sleepy
craving: Friday

salam alykom and hello to all my readers out there. :) I pray everyone is doing well. We're doing good, thank God. Just ready for the weekend. Have a great rest of the week and good night to America and Good morning to the rest of the world. :)

On to my entry.

After the entry I made about, Tell me a secret I left the anonymous on, i felt just maybe some readers want to be anonymous and are shy to post. Well, i had a reader who used it today. :) I'm all for constructive  Criticism, even if it's hurtful. Hey, everyone has their opinions and I'm opened minded enough to take it like a big girl. The anonymous user wrote.

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "We must always have old memories and young hopes":

I hate to break it to you but you really need to get over it and move on. Every blog post is about what used to be. Your never going to get through it and move on if you do not start living in the now and being more positive. Your husband is gone and your not in his country anymore your in YOURS. Make the best of it and what you have bc its not going to change. I used to like your blog but I feel so miserable when I come here anymore so I do not bother like everyone else.

I have to disagree with you, about every blog post being about what used to be. First of all, you don't know me in person. I assure you that if you did, you would never know that my heart was ripped out piece by piece and thrown away, only to be found a while back. :) Positive? I'm one of the most positive people in my group. I never complain or talk about my situation to anyone. I have my two best friends and they are always there for me to help me. Most important, I have Allah and He's enough for me. Alhamdulilah (Thank God). I don't know if you've been through a divorce? If so, I'm sorry to hear. If not, please don't judge a person until you've walked in their shoes. Simple as that.

You don't come here like everyone else? Well, that's not what my emails tell me and the statistics. I get wonderful emails from many readers. Thank you everyone for keeping my family and I in y'all's prayers, it means a lot. I went back on my entries in the last couple of days. The funny thing is, there are no posts about my past in the last entries. I have a food entry, Islamic entries and photo entries. Those entries aren't about my past, they're positive entries.

Last thing I want to say to you. This is my blog and I write what my heart tells me; it's my therapy. As I said in another blog entry a while back. I would be very content if no one ever read my blog. It's mainly for me and of course with the hope of me helping others in situations like mine or even worse situations than what I've been through. I have a lot of positive quotes on here and a lot of positive energy. I've talked to sisters on the phone, who have read and still read my blog and they love it. But, different strokes for different folks. We aren't all the same and some people will be there for you thorough the tough times and when the hard times come, you really find out who your true friends are. I think that goes with the followers. The compassionate readers stay through, not only the good, but also the sad entries and they don't get frustrated as you have. You say you feel so miserable?  So, you're telling me, if one of your friends is going though a hard time, you're going to turn your back on her or him and say, "Look You make me feel so miserable that I can't talk to you anymore or listen to you anymore." ? Because that's basically what your saying to me now.

I like to think of y'all as my friends who smile with me when I'm happy and have compassion for all the feelings I have. I know there's more good people out there than bad. The glass is always full to me. If you talk to me for just ten minutes, you will feel my love for people and you will know that I 'm a people pleaser.  I do voice my opinion and I like to listen to what the other party has on their mind. That said, a lot of people call people like me a push over. No, I'm not that. I'm a strong person with values and morals.

final whisper: You can't let praise or criticism get to you. It's a weakness to get caught up in either one.

Sunday brunch

mood: happy
craving: ....

My quiche is delicious. Brunch. :) :) :)

one Pillsbury pie crust.
Ore Ida Hash browns ( a couple hand fulls. )
red onion (if you like)
bell pepper
spinach
tomatoes
parsley
garlic
salt to taste
pepper
Jalapeno
full cream or milk to thicken the eggs
cheese (any kind you like)
Turkey bacon

honestly, you can put anything you want in quiche.

I bake the pie crust first to brown it. Then while baking the pie crust, I put a tiny bit of oil in the pan for the potatoes. Then add the onion, bell pepper, garlic, spinach, salt and pepper. cook that and let it cool a little. Break 4 eggs in a bowl with the cream (or you can use milk), salt, pepper and pour the potato mixture in the pie crust. Then add the egg, but beat the eggs before you put them over the potatoes. Ohhh, I forgot, we added turkey bacon to the potatoes. cooked the bacon in the microwave first. voila! you have your quiche! But, y'all can add anything to quiche! it's sooo delicious!

bon appetit

Islam saved my life

mood: loved
craving: chocolate..... Lots of it! :))))

"I've learned from studying Islam and being Muslim, that if your happiness is based on people approving of everything you do, you're doomed to fail. Islam helped me stand up and take responsibility for everything to do with me."

Remember God and He will remember YOU.

mood: hopeful
craving: hajj and ummrah

"Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest" (Quran Surah 13 :The Thunder, 28th verse)

Trials are sent to better us.

There were scientific facts mentioned in the Quran that modern science has only recently (1-100 years ago) found to be true.

because you know it's the truth. Don't let media feed you lies. Look for yourself.

because I was very unhappy and sad before Islam came along into my life.

Women!  and you'll find dignity and modesty. You aren't merchandise!

because I was a Christian Catholic and was very unhappy when told I shouldn't ask any question but believe blindly.

and see the blessings that it will bring in your life.

because we are the most practicing religion in the world.

Looking for tranquillity? Then why wait?

Science can tell us how things came to be, but it can't tell us why. If you're searching for your purpose, look no further.

where even smiling is charity. :)

Allah does not place a burden on a soul with more than it can bear.

because Allah (the 1 true God) will be there for you. ALWAYS. And His Mercy is BEYOND what you could ever expect.

because you'll find answers to your questions.

People  because when they read the Holy Qur'an, they realise it couldn't possibly have been written by anyone other than Allah (God).

If you  your past sins will be forgiven and your good deeds will remain!

Anybody can . You just need to believe that there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is His final messenger.

because it will make u understand the purpose of life.

To love at all is to be vulnerable

mood: content
craving: hmmmmmmmmm..... it's a secret... :)

“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master...”

― Elizabeth GilbertEat, Pray, Love

final whisper: As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And babe I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate.

If MY pictures could talk

mood: Anxious
craving: That special something to happen.. Please God let it come faster. :)

I like to take pictures of different things. Not anything specific, just stuff that captures my eye. I really don't believe a camera is only for taking pictures of people. In fact, I think when a photographer only uses it for taking pictures of people, it looses a lot of imagination. A camera captures so many different things in life.. . It's for making memories and looking back and knowing just what you were doing when in that special place. Sometimes a camera makes that special place a secret to others who weren't there and what has been going on in your life at that moment. I like that. I like that the camera can be your best friend and always make you feel like you just have to snap a pic and it can be your forever memory.. Enjoy my pictures.. They make me feel alive & I hope they bring a smile to y'alls faces. :)

It's all in the bag

mood: Amused
craving: tomorrow.. :)))))

Happy Friday everyone! salam alykom and hola to all my followers out there. It's 8pm on a Friday night, my kids and I are hanging out, taking it easy. Tomorrow we will spend all day with my two best childhood friends. I can't wait. So, I'll be off to bed kinda early tonight, unless my daughter and I decided to watch some movies and chill. Nothing better than spending a beautiful Friday night with my kids. Have a great weekend!!! Now, on to my entry.

A while back, my daughter came home from school and was so excited to tell me about her project. Her face was glowing and she proceeded to tell me what her project was about.

She was assigned to decorate a paper bag with pictures that represented her, places she has traveled, her favorite things and her future. In the bag, she had to put 3 things that meant something to her or represented something about her. She placed a green origami crane, a picture of my son and the flag of UAE.

When she told me why she picked these three things I cried. It just touched me the way she said it. She said.

  • In Japanese legend, if you fold 1000 cranes you are granted one wish such as eternal peace or recovery from an illness.
  • The picture of her brother represented her love for him.
  • The UAE flag opened her thinking and showed just how hospitable people can be.

I'm a really sensitive person and in the last two years, I've gotten in touch with my inner self. It's been a big blessing in disguise. All praise and thanks is to Allah (God). It's the little things in life that count. People are too busy trying to get what they WANT to make them happy. In all reality, it's the little things that touch your soul more than anything else.

final whisper: I want to thank Allah for all the blessings he has given me. Even during hard times, He's always merciful to me. I'm very humble in my life now. I no longer want stuff that I used to have. I get stuff that I need and I feel so good. Simplicity is happiness.

Tu Solo Tu ( You only You)

mood: Relaxed
craving: the weekend!!!! I can't wait to see you, Jessica.. :) :) :)

Salam Alykom and Hello to all my readers and followers, I've been very busy and we've had a very nice long weekend. I hope everyone had a great weekend and this week will pass fast for y'all so everyone gets to relax on the weekend. On to my entry.

My mind is trying to go back to a place when I had no worries and my two best childhood friends were just a hop, skip and a jump away. I can remember the first day we met in  June of '78. I rode my little pink bike over, I rode right up to them and said, "Can we be best friends?" They both looked at me and smiled and that was my thumbs up to get off my little bike and start playing with them both. The rest is history. Margie and Jessica have since then been like my two sisters. They're sisters in real life, and all the years we have been friends, we've had our up's and down's, but at the end, we always end up coming back together laughing, crying and reminiscing about our good and bad times we had. It's all good at the end.

Jessica when she was 8yrs old.. LOL the picture matches perfect with the above picture of her husband... Many years later. They've been happily married 21 yrs.

I'm sure y'all are wondering, who's this guy in the funny custom playing the Guitar? Well, his name is, George (BTW-he's one of the most AMAZING men I know) I can thank his mother for that. He's Jessica's husband.  We went to Austin with my other childhood bestie, Margie, Jessica's sister. Jessica just turned 40 yrs old on September 8th and her son, Jacob just turned 18 yrs old back in September. So, they had a nice big party for Jessica and Jacob. So, on to the story. I was so excited to see mom Pena, Jessica and Margie's mom. I hadn't seen her since the day my mom was buried, Her and my mom were best friends. Talk about nostalgia when I seen her. I ran up to her as fast as I could and hugged her so tight and we both cried. I'm sure a lot of different feelings were going on in our minds. She of course, looked at me and I looked at her and just cried more. I saw people I hadn't seen for many years and just sitting around talking to them was enough to put a smile on my face for years to come. George (Jessica's hubby) surprised Jessica with Mariachi's and then he came out singing with the Mariachi's, he was singing to none other than his beautiful most gorgeous wife, Jessica.

We never know what tomorrow will bring. Months later Jessica was diagnosed with Cancer. She's pulling through and God's willing she will pull through all the way. We video chat almost every night and talk all the time. I know just why I came back to the States. Jessica, I'm here for you. I love you.

final whisper: I Wish You Knew how Amazing and Inspiring you are. You have no clue. We love you.

I can't thank you enough for making me smile today

mood: nostalgic
craving: sitting in a majils with my friends back in uae and enjoying this song with them and dancing and being silly.

Salam Alykom and Hola to all my dolls out there. It's the middle of the week today and for some one the other side of the world, y'all's weekend began. Have a great weekend and take care. I woke up this morning and had some messages. This message was given to me by a very close friend/sister. The message was this Arabic song y'all see here. Her and I both lived in the middle east and shared a lot of the same experiences . She knows how I feel, because both of us have lived with another culture and we are both Latina's too.  So, on to my short entry. A couple more days, everyone and our weekend will start. :)

When I listened to this and closed my eyes, I felt like I was sitting right there with the very people who made me feel as if I was always special. You Arabs stole my heart, like no other culture has, other than mine. The legacy goes on in my son's veins. He will know just how special part of his culture is, he will know all.  I wish people would get to know just what wonderful people you Arabs are. If they only knew, and took time get to know the culture that everyone loves to hate. They would be so shocked that, that very culture they were scared of has the most amazing people on the face of this earth. There's a reason my heart will never stop loving y'all.

final whisper: I love that every word in this song, touches my heart and I totally understand the beautiful words.

P.S. Thanks, La Pasionaria .. Thanks for bringing back memories both you and I share.
Because life is beautiful.
